A touchscreen is an electronic visual display that can detect the presence and location of a touch within the display area. The term generally refers to touching the display of the device with a finger or hand. Touchscreens can also sense other passive objects, such as a stylus. Touchscreens are common in devices such as game consoles, all-in-one computers, tablet computers, and smart-phones. but personally I don't like using touchscreen phones because if you have big fingers like mine your going to type a lot of nonsense words.  

The touchscreen has two main attributes. First, it enables one to interact directly with what is displayed, rather than indirectly with a pointer controlled by a mouse or touchpad. Secondly, it lets one do so without requiring any intermediate device that would need to be held in the hand (other than a stylus, which is optional for most modern touchscreens). Such displays can be attached to computers, or to networks as terminals. They also play a prominent role in the design of digital appliances such as the personal digital assistant (PDA), satellite navigation devices, mobile phones, and video games.

The popularity of smartphones, tablet computers, portable video game consoles and many types of information appliances is driving the demand and acceptance of common touchscreens, for portable and functional electronics. With a display of a simple smooth surface, and direct interaction without any hardware (keyboard or mouse) between the user and content, fewer accessories are required. Touchscreens are popular in the medical field, and in heavy industry, as well as kiosks such as museum displays or room automation, where keyboard and mouse systems do not allow a suitably intuitive, rapid, or accurate interaction by the user with the display's content.

Historically, the touchscreen sensor and its accompanying controller-based firmware have been made available by a wide array of after-market system integrators, and not by display, chip, or motherboard manufacturers. Jose Rizal

José Protacio Rizal Mercado y Alonso Realonda better known as Jose Rizal was a Filipino polymath, patriot and the most prominent advocate for reform in the Philippines during the Spanish colonial era. He is regarded as the foremost Filipino patriot and is listed as one of the national heroes of the Philippines by National Heroes Committee. His execution by the Spanish in 1896, a date marked annually as Rizal Day, a Philippine national holiday, was one of the causes of the Philippine Revolution.

Rizal was born to a rich family in Calamba, Laguna and was the seventh of eleven children. He attended the Ateneo Municipal de Manila, earning a Bachelor of Arts, and enrolled in medicine at theUniversity of Santo Tomas. He continued his studies at theUniversidad Central de Madrid in Madrid, Spain, earning the degree of Licentiate in Medicine. He also attended the University of Parisand earned a second doctorate at the University of Heidelberg.

Rizal was a polyglot conversant in twenty-two languages. He was a prolific poet, essayist, diarist, correspondent, and novelist whose most famous works were his two novels, Noli me Tangereand El filibusterismo. These social commentaries on Spanish rule formed the nucleus of literature that inspired peaceful reformists and armed revolutionaries alike.

As a political figure, José Rizal was the founder of La Liga Filipina, a civic organization that subsequently gave birth to the Katipunan led by Andrés Bonifacio and Emilio Aguinaldo. He was a proponent of achieving Philippine self-government peacefully through institutional reform rather than through violent revolution, although he would support "violent means" as a last resort. Rizal believed that the only justification for national liberation and self-government is the restoration of the dignity of the people, saying "Why independence, if the slaves of today will be the tyrants of tomorrow?" The general consensus among Rizal scholars is that his execution by the Spanish helped to bring about the Philippine Revolution.

In the advent of  computers in the computing world it gained a lot of support from big companies to small scale industries.  Different kinds of computers came out of the market.  Technology change rapidly for new innovations.  From big main frame computers to desktops come the laptops.  The laptops came in as a small device for computing on the go. Laptops received a lot of publicity because of their portability and their ease of use. This new technology took the computing world by storm and dominated the portable computer scene until a new device entered the market, the tablet. This device offers several of the same features as laptops but with added portability. Some individuals feel this is the new way to compute and they can’t live without their tablet.  Whereas others say laptops can never be replaced.

One of the benefits of using a laptop is the hardware included on the product. Laptops come with full keyboards, large screens and much higher screen resolution than you would find on any tablet. Using a full keyboard can type much faster and more accurately.. The screen is also much larger for viewing photos, browsing the web or even enjoying entertainment content. For a full laptop, not a netbook, your screen size will be 13 inches or larger, depending on the type of product you purchase. Laptops are also more durable than tablets, and you won’t have to worry about scratching or damaging the touch screen display.

However, bigger may not always be better. Originally, laptops were designed for portability. These devices accomplish work on the go but they can be a burden to carry with you. Most laptop computers weigh anywhere from 3 to 9 pounds. Not only can this heavy weight be an annoyance to carry in a backpack or briefcase, it can cause back pain if they are carried for extended periods of time.

These highly portable computing devices give you full control of the screen, features and applications. By using your finger or a stylus, you can directly touch the screen to make gaming more interactive, and the hands-on approach provides a more tactile experience than a mouse for drawing and illustrating. Compared to laptop computers, these products are small. Most tablets offer anywhere from a 7-inch to a 10-inch display screen and weigh less than 1 pound. You can store all your music, capture photos or videos, video chat and even read books on their built-in eReaders.

Aside from some hefty price tags, you must take special precautions in the care of these devices. They may have a durable body, but the touchscreen display is exposed. And if the touchscreen is damaged, your device could become useless. You can buy a case to protect the screen, but these are not included with the product and require a separate purchase.

If you're trying to decide between a laptop and a tablet, it all depends upon you and your needs. Chinese Food Vs Western Food

Western-style food is simple; but Chinese food is complicated. In Western-style food cookbook, various ingredients such as the flour, sugar, butter etc. is  indicated in grams, spoons or cups, even the size of the egg is given.  But Chinese cooking it is like a testing laboratory. Thus , making Western-style food  easy to prepare. 

It  is not easy to prepare Chinese food. Even if you have cookbook, it is not so easy to follow. Because the Chinese cookbook will not tell you how many grams of ingredient like salt,pepper. , Why? Because the taste buds of people differ. The Chinese in southern part likes eating the sweet food; The Chinese northerner part likes eating the salty food; The Chinese eastern people likes eating the hot food; The Chinese western people likes eating the sour food. If the cookbook hard and fast rule several grams of salt, perhaps Shanghai people feel it is too salty, but the northerner feel it is not salty enough. So, a good cook rely on experience and skill when cooking  in China..

Secondly, the kitchen of Chinese food  is very noisy as compared with the  Western-style food kitchen.  The kitchen of Western-style food is more peaceful.  Food bought is usually prepared already. For crab and shrimp  its already pre cooked.  The kitchen of Chinese food seems noisy because everything is cut in the kitchen like chicken, duck and fish.  The kitchen is full of glint of kitchen knife I feel it is like the battle field.

The tableware of Western-style food is knife and fork, the tableware of Chinese food is only two simple small bamboo sticks — Chopsticks. So, I think the tableware of Western-style food is violence than the tableware of Chinese food.

Third, the atmosphere of Chinese food is different from Western-style food while having a meal.  The atmosphere of Western-style food is particular about scenery and ware. 

ATENEO vs DLSU

Probably when kids gets on to third year high school they will prepare for their college education.  There’s always a big question, which is a better school?   For some going to the top three universities like University of the Philippines (UP), Ateneo de Manila University (ADMU) and De La Salle University (DLSU) is a big dream come true if they passed the entrance exam.  Many say that these three universities give a very tedious entrance exam.  They need to review in a separate review institution just to pass the entrance exam.  The competition is very tough because students all over the Philippines are trying their luck in these universities. But how do we really compare DLSU and ADMU?     

According to the THS-QS world survey of Universities, in 2009 Ateneo (AdMU) is the best private school in the Philippines; whereas in 2008 De La Salle (DLSU) was the best private school. They seem to be comparable in terms of awarding body for the private schools.  But I guess they have their own specialty.  La Salle was known for its Business, Economics, Computer, Engineering, and Science courses while Ateneo is good at Social Sciences, Liberal Arts, Humanities, Management, Pre-Law, and Communications.  It depends on the student.  What is the ability, level of skills a student possesses? 

They say that Ateneo usually bags championships in debates and philosophy while DLSU gets the championships in mathematics, business, and engineering.  Ateneo has a better reputation, because "the Ateneo" still commands some prestige. Most people view Atenista as "slightly brainy and rich". Politicians particularly prefer sending their kids to Ateneo; and most American foreigners in the Philippines send their children at Ateneo.     However La Salle has also a nice reputation. Their good reputation is focused on Business and Science. If you are taking a Business or Engineering course in DLSU, you'll be seen as intelligent. DLSU is known as the "wealth-maker", for the reason that most of its graduates are/become rich. 

The products of Ateneo are seen as frank, assertive and independent in thought and practice. Most of them speak English as their first language. Many Ateneo students go on to become professionals while DLSU students are very communicative and very friendly; as a group they are seen as one of the country's finest when it comes to mathematics and science; . Most of them use Taglish (English with some Tagalog) as their first language. Many DLSU students go on to become rich entrepreneurs.

Nike VS Adidas

Nike and Adidas are sportswear companies whose products are popular around the world.  Over the past 60 years the struggle for the number one sports shoe lives on.  It has raged between two industrial giants, Nike and Adidas.  Some argue that Nike shoes are the best, while others say that Adidas are the future of sports shoes.  Nike claims that they have the style, comfort & durability. Adidas is growing rapidly. Adidas owns Reebok, Taylor Made Golf Company and Rockport. Nike owns Umbro, Hurley, Converse and Cole Haan.
Adidas' motto is "Impossible is nothing." Nike's motto is "Just do it."

Adidas was founded in 1924 by Adolf Dassler (1900-1959), at the age of 20, invented the first pair of shoes with spikes.  Today known as cleats, this innovation soon became world renowned for its impressive traction and durability.  With more than 700 patents on new sports equipment and shoes before his death in 1959, Adidas was able to maintain its number one spot until just recently, with Nike in first place.

Nike is the current leading supplier of all shoes and apparel, Nike was founded in 1964 under the name Blue Ribbon Sports.  Eventually changed to Nike in 1974, the reason for Nike's great success in the shoe industry is due to its original designs and shoe soles.  Producing its first innovative and original design in 1974, called the Waffle Trainer, the company soon

For me I prefer Nike because I like the comfort it gives my feet.

McDonald’s vs Jollibee

Wherever to go around the world you can see McDonald’s.  ,It is the world’s largest food service organization. McDonald’s holds more than 40% share of the US fast-food burger market. However, in the Philippines Jollibee dominates the fast food burger market.

 

Jollibee Foods is the king of the burger market in the Philippines. The rivalry between Jollibee and McDonald’s looks like no contest if you look internationally. McDonald’s has more than 31,000 outlets in more than 100 countries out of which 3,000 outlets are in Asia. Jollibee has only 600 outlets and over 50 international outlets. Looking at the numbers Jollibee is just a two percent (2%) of Mc Donalds in terms of outlet.  But despite these numbers, this small Jollibee has humbled the global giant i8n the Philippines.  Jollibee has captured more than 65% share of the hamburger market in the Philippines. This is more than half of the fast-food market as a whole and about twice McDonald’s sales in the country. Its revenues are growing rapidly and profitably. They claim that they are the undisputed leader of the fast-food market in the Philippines.

Their secret is Smart Niching. Jollibee concentrates on serving the unique tastes of Filipino consumers whereas McDonald’s exports largely standardized fare to consumers around the world.

CANON VS NIKON DSLR

Which is a good brand Canon or Nikon? This is the most common question that consumers will be asking when buying or comparing digital SLR cameras.

Canon & Nikon were the first company to make the leap from film photography to digital photography.  The initial presence in the market makes them the dominant market players.  Today Canon and Nikon constantly battle for the top spot in the SLR market, while Olympus, Pentax and Sony dunku it out for the third position.  If you are a photographer by profession or serious hobbyist you will notice that if there will be a release of a new technology or upgrade of equipment by either Canon or Nikon the other will also release its own version of the other company.  A new camera designed will award the company a captured niche aspect of the market, thus the opposing company also announces a camera that is competitive or even better than the latest release.  However in photography it’s not just the camera.  The beauty of the pictures is always attributed to camera flash, lightning condition and the maximization of the capability of the camera.  One should know how to use all the functions in the camera to bring out the beauty of the picture. It doesn't really matter what brand of camera you use but how you use it is more important.    

ABS CBN VS GMA 7

The battle for audience share continues on between the two networks ABS CBN AND GMA7.  TV5 is getting a share in the ratings after its launch.  But overall they are the giant  local TV network.

                                                                    

Back in time GMA7 is in its 62th year in the industry and ABS CBN restored its power after the People Power way back 1986.  Each station has their own strategy to win the battle of audiences.   Each station got their talents through discovery of stars through different reality shows, they pirate talents from each other’s network station depending on the price offered to the talents.  The unending claims of copying each other is always an issue between rival stations.  Each station has unending show off  of awards granted by different awarding body to show the approval of the audiences throughout the country as well as worldwide.  Nonetheless the bottom line is how they will be able to entertain, inform responsibly and help the viewing public in times of crisis.

Based on Kantar media data ABS CBN average individual TV rating is 35.8% as against 31.6% for GMA 7.  These are number corresponding to their performance but for me ABS CBN continuously shine in the entertainment world.  Considering that ABS CBN has more talents than GMA 7.  In area of news both station is at par and their consistency of giving the on time & accurate report is their battleship.  Each has the a very good set of news anchor at their own rights and credibility. 

We can never say whose the best but I can say is that the competition between them makes them improve their service to the Filipino viewers.   

   

Cheesecake ^_^

There are different kinds of cheesecake there's the regular humble cheesecake and there's also the OREO Cheesecake. These two are my favorite kind of Cheesecake. Do you know what cheesecake is made of ?

Cheesecake is a dessert consisting of a topping made of soft, fresh cheese, usually on a crust or base made from biscuit (such as a graham cracker crust), pastry or sponge cake. They may be baked or unbaked. Cheesecakes are usually sweetened with sugar and may be flavored or topped with fruit, nuts, fruit sauce and/or chocolate.  







While on the other hand,is a proven crowd pleaser that works for holidays or family gatherings. This recipe uses Oreo brand cookies, but any chocolate sandwich cookie can be substituted. Constructing this piece of art is a two-day process and takes approximately 13-14 hours to complete. Although time consuming, the taste is well worth the wait.




I really love cheesecake because of  comfort food. Which means that food prepared traditionally, that may have a nostalgic or sentimental appeal, or simply provide an easy-to-eat, easy-to-digest meal rich in calories, nutrients, or both. Comfort foods may be foods that have a nostalgic element either to an individual or a specific culture. Many comfort foods are flavorful and easily eaten, having soft consistencies.

Gadgets

Now a days people are sooo techie and have more than one gadget on hand. 

There are iPads,iPhones,Tablets and even SLR's theses are just a fraction of the gadgets we have available in the market for consumers to enjoy. Gadgets are a small technological object such as a device or an appliance that has a particular function, but is often thought of as anovelty . Gadgets are invariably considered to be more unusually or cleverly designed than normal technological objects at the time of their invention. Gadgets are sometimes also referred to as gizmos. Personally I have a few of those gadgets which I really enjoy using. I have an iPod, iTouch and an DSLR. I use my iPod and iTouch for playing music but the only differences is that the iTouch can store all kind of useful applications like Nike+ and Photoshop.  




My favorite gadget among the three is my DSLR because I have a passion for Photography and it brings out the my creative side.   Photography is the art, science and practice of creating durable images by recording light or other electromagnetic radiation, either electronically by means of an image sensor or chemically by means of a light-sensitive material such as photographic film. Typically, a lens is used to focus the light reflected or emitted from objects into a real image on the light-sensitive surface inside a camera during a timed exposure. The result in an electronic image sensor is an electrical charge at each pixel, which is electronically processed and stored in adigital image file for subsequent display or processing. The result in a photographic emulsion is an invisible latent image, which is later chemically developed into a visible image, either negative or positive depending on the purpose of the photographic material and the method of processing. A negative image on film is traditionally used to photographically create a positive image on a paper base, known as a print, either by using an enlarger or by contact printing.

Favorite Cartoon Character

Cartoons, what's the first thing that comes to your mind ? To other people it might be Mickey Mouse, Donald Duck, or Goofy. But for me my favorite cartoon character is Timmy Turner.


Timmy Turner is an American 10-year-old kid from a middle class family and the main protagonist of the series Fairly OddParents. Timmy was born in  1997, wears a pink cap, and has noticeable buck teeth. His parents are rarely present and take little interest in his activities, which makes it easy for him to conceal the existence of his fairy godparents Cosmo and Wanda. He wishes for nearly everything he wants, consequently causing unintentional havoc on many occasions. In the episode "Wishing Well," this habit of perpetually depending on the almost omnipotent magical energy of his godparents had been shown to drain him of the essential skills he needed to care for himself, leading Jorgen Von Strangle to send him to wishing rehab in order to teach him, along with two other children by the names of Molly and Dwight, how to rely on his own natural skills when put into every day situations. Timmy generally has good intentions, but has a tendency to be selfish and obstinate at times. He is commonly portrayed as having short attention span, and earns failing grades at school, although this seems to be primarily due to his childish disinterest in academic achievement, as well as Denzel Crocker's severe hatred for him. Throughout the series he goes under a variety of alter-egos, with one of the most common being the superhero and Crimson Chin sidekick "Cleft, the Boy Chin Wonder." In "Fairly OddBaby", Timmy wishes for a baby god-brother to please his god parents, causing Comso to magically conceive Poof, thus fulfilling their need to have a child of their own. In the Wishology Trilogy, Timmy is revealed to be the one to defeat the Darkness. In the end, Timmy becomes friends with the Darkness, who had only been wanting a friend. In a season six episode, Timmy finally celebrates his 11th birthday. In "Timmy's Secret Wish", he secretly wished that everyone would stop aging so he could stay ten years old forever and keep his fairies. Cosmo doesn't remember granting Timmy that wishes because Timmy wished that Cosmo forgets about it; he made that wish 50 years ago.

Facebook or Google+ ? Which do you prefer ? I have to conduct a review because I don't really know anything about Google+. So before I choose lets have a quick review.

 Facebook is a social networking service and website launched in February 2004, operated and privately owned by Facebook Inc. As of February 2012, Facebook has more than 845 million active users. Users must register before using the site, after which they may create a personal profile, add other users as friends, and exchange messages, including automatic notifications when they update their profile. Additionally, users may join common-interest user groups, organized by workplace, school or college, or other characteristics, and categorize their friends into lists such as "People From Work" or "Close Friends". The name of the service stems from the colloquial name for the book given to students at the start of the academic year by some university administrations in the United States to help students get to know each other. Facebook allows any users who declare themselves to be at least 13 years old to become registered users of the site.

Google+ (pronounced and sometimes written as Google Plus, sometimes abbreviated asG+) is a social networking and identity service, operated by Google Inc.The service was launched on June 28, 2011, in an invitation-only "field testing" phase. Early invites were soon suspended due to an "insane demand" for new accounts. On September 20, 2011, Google+ was opened to everyone 18 years of age or older without the need for an invitation. It was opened for a younger age group (13+ years old in US and most countries, 14+ in South Korea and Spain, 16+ in Netherlands) on January 26, 2012.


So far I still pick Facebook over Google+ because its user-friendly and more familiar to use.

My Best Friends

Hmmm.... who are my best friends ? I think its safe to say Edjune, Kyle and Jerome.

Edjune is 14 years old 5"5 in height. He is the type of person who has a split personality he's sometimes selfish and sometimes giving all at once(O_O). he can be so giving and selfish all in one situation . I can say that he loves EATING because he keeps stealing my food then asks if he can have some afterwards. He also a part f the volley ball team in BA(just like me) .I cant  explain his personality and how he  feels sometimes but I think that makes him unique.

Kyle   is 14 years old 5"7 in height. he is the type of person that love sports like badminton and volleyball. he is also giving and kind. We are partners in crime "kung meron akong naiisip na kalokohan" he is the first one I call (kung meron XD).  He is also one of the team-members in Volleyball.

 Finally Jerome he is 5"6 also 14 years old. Some people think he is silent and really shy but when you get to know him you will regret thinking that. He is also one of the team-members in Volleyball.  

I am really luck to have friends like then and I hope when we get to collage we can still keep in
touch.
